Antelope Canyon, a slot canyon on Navajo territory. The shapes in this canyon were carved out by water rushing down
from above, carrying sand to sculpt the walls.
Our guide, Carol, was a Navajo woman whose grandmother discovered this canyon as a girl in 1931.
The most commonly photographed time is high noon, when spotlight-like light beams (our guide called them
"shaft of lights") enter straight down from above. We were about an hour too early for that, but there were
plenty of great photos ops nonetheless.
