|Avenue of the Sphinxes at the Temple of Karnak in Luxor. At one time it is believed that the entire road from Karnak to the Luxor Temple, about 4 miles, was lined with these Sphinxes. Our guide told us that the local government is talking about trying to excavate the rest of the avenue, but it's difficult since so much is built on top of it.
