|Villas in Nesso as seen from the boat trip up the lake
|The boat trip was hours end-to-end (we were not on for the entire trip) and offered a three-course lunch on board. We got off in Bellagio just before lunch was going to be served.

|We are not sure if this was a symbol of support, or just pandering to Americans
|One surprise was the cost of sodas. The kids ordered a couple of Sprites at dinner at a cost of €4 each, about $6 for a can of Sprite! This was the typical price in any restaurant we visited. Cold cans at a store were usually about €2.

|Turtles at Villa Carlotta in the gardens. The villa serves as an art museum but no photos were allowed inside.

|This waiter struck up a rapport with the kids. Nora doesn't know Italian but managed to point at herself and say "bella" and to Eric and say "brutto" (beautiful and ugly). The waiter and Eric then started calling each other "Brutto" and it just went on from there.
